The Earth Announces Your Presence

I waited for you.

Sat still,

In my despair.

Life far from me,

Blood drained from my veins,

I waited.

I couldn't see the end,

From the middle within which I stood.

I knew one thing as truth,

That if I didn't seek you, my refuge,

I'm nothing but through.

Patiently, in fear, unfortunately,

Counting the rising and falling of my chest.

Alert to my surroundings,

Crouched in the safest place I could find,

I waited for your breakthrough.

“What are you doing here?”, You asked.

“Father, what do you think?”, I thought.

I'm preserving my dear life.

“Come.”,

Was your simple command.

I arose, and waited for Your signs.

Majestic, is my only word.

Beyond comprehension and comparison,

Is all I thought,

As the winds brought rocks to dusts,

Rattled boulders to their knees.

Swept a path through dry land for Your feet,

Shielded Your glory by a tornado of earth.

Speechless.

“Even the winds and waves Obey You.”

Terrified, Yet in awe,

As the floor shook and my knees quivered.

“What kind of a God is this?”, I questioned.

As flames blew across my face,

Announcing Your soon arrival.

Then more marvelous,

Than I came contain and believe,

You spoke.

In the quietest of voices,

Soft as a cloud's caress,

I heard Your voice.
